20 Miler

Last Saturday was the longest run for my training schedule. Had to run 20 miles. Madness you say? Why Yes it was. I ran with the running gang and did not feel nearly as bad as I did last saturday when we had ran also 20 but really was suppose to be 18. I wore asics shoes one saturday and than brooks the next. Both new pairs but I only got a blister with the asics shoes so I took them back and stuck with the Brooks and I really like them.

I am blogging about this not to boast in the fact that I am running but merely to remember:

A. This has been hard my body is sore and tired. I hate the soreness but also love it.
B. It is a big time commitment. Thanks Kev you have been so supportive especially since it was during busy tax time at work.
C. It has been an awesome experience.
Thanks Rach for letting me train and run with you and the other fun girls.
D. I love getting up and getting going in the morning even though that first reaction is to hit the snooze button. I also have learned I do love to sleep in too!
Fun times to Remember:
-We decided to run a 16 miler on a friday night!
-We almost got hit by the same biker twice on the Jordan Parkway he was not happy.
-All the husbands coming to pick us up
-Einstein Bagels and Jamba's (yes sometimes these were our ending point)
-sunrises
-running from copperton, and all the deer that ran right out in front of us.
-Rach saving us from cars hitting us alot
-construction on the parkway (walking hunched over to get to the other side of the parkway)
-bathroom stops
I am talking like I am done. No no. Not until May 15th!

I am excited now to taper down. I don't even know if I spelled that right. (still not a "real runner") We only have 9 miles this Saturday. Wahoo!

catching up...

Easter was great. We had a fun weekend with conference and easter Sunday.
We did our Easter egg hunt with the Bush Fam on Saturday and the week before did a dinner with the Dearden family.
Conference was great as always and I love that we could celebrate our savior and the atonement while eating good easter candy and hearing from our wonderful church leaders.

Riverton Half Marathon

First I should start by saying this: One of the things I have always wanted to do is run a MARATHON! I have been afraid to do this and never fully committed myself to it until, my cute sis in law Rach said she was going to run one. So I hopped on the ban wagon.
We have been training for it and we are running in the Ogden Marathon on May 15th.
I must say after I signed up and still I wonder What Have I Done?
I am excited and nervous for it. Last Saturday we ran in the Riverton half marathon with some other good ladies who are doing the marathon with us. It was fun. We were cold before the race had begun though because for training that day we were supposed to run 16 miles and the race was only 13.2 so we ran 3 miles to the start line.
We had some great supporters!
Thanks guys!!!

Newborn baby and big sister...

Here is big sister Maddie waiting to go see her new baby brother. She was so dang excited all morning long!
My dear sister had her second baby. Her first baby boy. He is adorable and very small. I did not get any photos. I kept forgetting to take my camera in when I took turns going into the hospital room. Since the rule of no kids in the room besides the siblings of the new baby.
But we are so excited that Baby Garret is here safe and sound. Way to go Jeff and Amber he is so sweet!!!
