Swim Class and the weekend!

I signed Cole up for the tots beginning swim class at the Kearns Rec Center. He has had two classes so far. The first class was so fun to see him with his cousins getting use to the water and having a good time. The next class well I guess he got pretty comfortable. He got put in time out by the teacher for not listening. He wants to joke around and be the funny kid. So we had a talk and hopefully he will be able to listen to his teacher today! What am I gonna do with that cute kid. But boy do I love to see him with his cute cousins.

So it is Memorial Day Weekend! I love this weekend.
I can't wait to play it away. Hopefully I can plant my garden too.
Today Kev is going to take another CPA Exam. Good Luck babe. You are so awesome.
We love you!

26.2

My Running Group
Rachel and I we split up through some other ladies.

All the fun poster that were made for us.

I went with the running girls Friday night out to dinner at Jordan Landing. My Mom and Amber showed up with a sign that said " We can do 26.2" it was so cute of them. We than ate dinner and headed down to pick up our race packets. We spent the night at one of the girl's parents house and watched a movie called Run Fat Boy Run. We went to bed at 12:30 and woke up at 3:30 in the morning.
We got all ready and loaded on to the bus that took us up Ogden Canyon. I have done a few races but I really thought this race was by far the best.
It was so organized and they had drinks and Gu (yes I said Gu do I sound like a real runner?) and Cliff Bars before the race had even started. We all gathered around fire pits and of course there were lines for the port a potties. Which I did stand in line for but could only go #1. So yes I was still worried I would have to go #2 during the race. But no worries I did not need too. Which would have been fine since they were not short on port a potties at all. (No need to go in the woods, Thank goodness). Sorry to talk about my bathroom business but it is apart of the race.
It was so beautiful to run down the mountain, and along the river, and around a lake. I also loved all the people that came out of there homes and were cheering us on. I loved that one guy had his car blaring the song "here comes the sun" which is on my wedding video.
Around mile 9 is where I saw Family. And boy was that so awesome! I was so excited to see them and have them cheer us on. They were also at the half way mark and than again at the finish line.
Thank you guys for being there and supporting and cheering us on! It meant so much. Kevin has been so great while I have been training for this, it was a huge time commitment and he was so great through it all. Thanks to my fun running girls. I know I would not have been able to do it by myself. I loved being able to cross the finish line with you Rachel! Thank you for pushing me and helping me to accomplish one of my goals!

Well It is Finally Here... Marathon Day!

I have been training and running like a crazy lady and well tomorrow is the Big Day. I am excited and nervous. This is my first marathon and probably my last. I have only blogged about the whole running once or twice. But now I thought I should have done it a little more, so I could look back and realize how good and rewarding it has been for me, and also how much of a time commitment it has been!
Like I said I am a little nervous.
A. I have trained and I want to complete the whole thing even if I have to walk a little.
B. My knee has been giving me some trouble.
C. Where will I be when the urge to use the bathroom comes?! Yes they do have port a potty's or whatever, but I hear the line is long and what if the urge goes away. They say some go in the mountains behind a tree. Oh man will I have to do that. Not that it's bad I have just never done it before. aaah. Sorry, but it is something I am thinkin of.
It should be fun and now I can cross a marathon off my list...hopefully fingers crossed. :)

Mother's Day and Red Velvet Cake...

I was treated to my Favorite French Toast and Orange Julius this morning. Can't go wrong with a breakfast like that. Than off we went to church. I love the Mother's Day talks. I was left feeling inspired. Than it was off to visit our Mother's.

We went and awaited the phone call from Elder Bush. In his honor we did a Red Velvet Cake Contest!

This is my Mom's cake boy doesn't it look amazing.
Here are the Contestants minus one, sorry Ambs not sure why I didn't get you.
My food coloring went pink instead of red and I was just going to drizzle a little red aka pink on top but than it came out in a blob and well you can see for yourself that I must not have one the color nor the presentation award. ha. ha.
Here are our wonderful judges! They meant business.
We were judged on our color, moisture, texture, taste and overall favorite. :)
We all used this recipe below, that Elder Bush sent home to us from one of the members in his area. It was so fun to talk to him. He is such a cool kid.

Red Velvet Cake (Makes II Cakes)

2.5 cups of sifted flour
1.5 cups sugar
1 teaspoon soda (probably baking soda)
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cocoa

1 c buttermilk
1.5 cups of wesson oil
1 teaspoon vinegar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs
1 bottle of red food coloring (1 oz.)

Bake 3 layers 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes.

I often go walking...

I have been blessed with some great Women in my life! I have wonderful sisters and sister in laws who I think the world of and who are amazing Mothers!

Than their are my own Mother's! Who leave me in awe of their incredible Mothering ways!
You make me want to be a better Mother and hopefully one day be half as good at it as you both are. I learn so much from you. Thank you! I love you. Happy Mother's Day.

Cole sang with all the primary kids today at church. It was so fun and a little bit scary to let him go up there all by himself. He did great. He ran up the ramp a little irreverently, and we were afraid he would just run around the whole time but he ran up there and finally settled on a spot to stay and sing. :) They sang I often go walking, which is such a sweet song. (Which is why I reposted this picture, although I wanted to post a picture of my mom and mother in law. But it is lunch time and so I can not search the pics right now, Hungry mouths to feed!)

I got this from my sis in law and I really liked it.

BYU Women's Conference

Last week I had the opportunity to go with some of the girls in my family to women's conference at BYU. Kevin stayed home with the kids and we went early Friday morning.
I love going and being with the girls in the fam. (Missed ya Mel and Amber!) I love to rush to the classes even though we sometimes don't get into the classes we want to and than end up sluffing and going to the bookstore for some yummy chocolate covered cinnamon bears and other fun things to bring home.
We also play a fun game. Kind of like where is waldo but it is to spot certain things. Some items on the list:
Find someone eating a mint brownie
Find someone talking on the phone at an inappropriate time
Find someone crossing on the grass
Find someone from another state
I cant remember them all. But we had some fun ones to add to the list. Like a women reading a romance novel during a talk. ha ha . it was so fun.
We even met a lady from the netherlands who knows a family from my brother's mission, that we helped raise money to come here to the temple! That was pretty cool.
Despite some of our irreverent games we play I still get a lot of great things out of it.
There is something amazingly powerful being with all those women. Women who are Mother's and who have strong testimonies of our Savior and know that the most important thing we will ever do is within the walls of our own home.
