Little jobs...

I am trying to have little jobs that Coleman can do to help around the house. Some of the things are the usual. Get bathed, dressed, hair and teeth brushed. I also like him to be able to help make his bed and help unload the dishwasher, help set the table and put his clean clothes away. They all seem to take way longer if he does them. But I know that it is important to teach him.
Well I came back to the kitchen and this is what I found. Working on putting them in the right spot next time.

I'm Sorry for...

I love my little ColeeOllie's tenderness that comes at such a sweet time. We will be driving down the road or sitting having lunch and Cole will say" Mom, I am sorry for yelling and talking back at you. or today, I am sorry you have a cold."
He thinks of things and remembers later and tells you I'm sorry for...
Like today he told his cute cousin He was sorry for not letting her watch Snow White (a few days later). I love his tenderness. Sure he can throw fits with the best of them and be rough and tuff. But boy do I ever love him.
He teaches me so much and helps me realize instead of forgetting about it that I can also, days later say I'm sorry!

Shrek is a bad influence...

I was on the phone chatting it up while Coleman was in his room playing. I knew he was in there playing because I can always hear him. He usually makes crashing noises with his cars. Sometimes he will throw all his toys around just to hear the crashing noises they make. We are trying to teach him to be softer with his toys. I realized mid conversation that I had not heard him for a few minutes. So I peeked in to his bedroom to see what he was up too. His pants and underwear were in a pile on the floor and than I noticed the marker in his hand. He was drawing all over the area that is usually covered by underwear. Yep. It was all over his legs, and bum, and tummy not to mention the other place. So this is why it had suddenly gotten silent in the house! I also noticed he had drawn all over his shrek guy. I totally feel that Shrek is a bad influence on my child but he sure loves that movie. I quickly told my sister that we have marker in places we should not and I'd have to call her back. When I went back into the room he had hid in his closet. I had to control myself and be serious. Me: Coleman why did you draw all over yourself? Cole: I fought it be soooo funny! Just hearing him say that made me have to bite my cheek in order not to laugh.
This is not the first time with body art of course but yes the first time that it was quite focused all in one area! We later talked briefly how your body is a temple. Pretty sure he got it. At least till next time.

Happy Happy Birthday!

It's my little sister's birthday! Well it is this coming Monday. She has a January birthday and well let's just say it, winter birthday's don't seem as much fun! right?
So we have done theme birthdays for her in the past to help make it better. ( just for her though, my Dad's, brothers, and Sis in laws are also in the winter) sorry guys.
Oh wait we did go to Leatherby's for Mindy's.
Well this time we did not do a theme birthday.
But we did rent out a room at Noah's in Lindon. Boy did we have a good time. We played Wallyball, and ate, watched movies. They also opened another room for us and it had pool and ping pong. It was a great night!
Happy Birthday Lizzy and Mindy and Leslie! Love you guys!!

Our Six Month Baby Girl!

This past week Dailey turned 6 months old! Wow. Where did the time go. She is such a fun baby. I took her and Cole into the doctor for her 6 month and his 3 year old visit. The doctor checked her and she had a double ear infection. Poor girl!
Dailey had to get shots in both legs. I thought Cole just had to get the mist (flu) but they were out. So in the leg for him too.
He was brave though. They both cried for a second, which made me want to cry.
Here are some pictures we took. Coleman took some, which kept him entertained while waiting.

Sunbeam

Cole is now our little Sunbeam! I can not believe he is in primary. It is so crazy. The whole month of December we were trying to prepare Coleman for leaving nursery and joining the big kids in primary. I have been excited to have him join me in primary but I do know the things he will miss.
No more Toys!
No more Snacks!
He did great though! He sat with his little class, right between two cute little girls. Where they blew on each others face throughout sharing time. We will have to work on that :)
He sure is full of energy but we sure love him and would not want it any other way.
He is a darn cute sunbeam!

Recap of December and Christmas Day

December was such a fun month. We had our "daily stockings" that the elf would leave if we were good the day before. Cole would run out each morning and say "look what Santa left us". There were a few days that the stockings were empty.
I thought it would be fun to wrap some of the gifts we bought for the cousins and put under the tree. Boy was that a mistake. Here I thought it would get Cole excited. Well he asked everyday, and what seemed like every minute to open them up. Live and Learn right!

Cole got pink eye this month and than both Dailey and Cole got pretty bad coughs and colds. They both were sick on Christmas day. Poor kids. But we still joined both families that day and shared our germs. We also got to talk to Jimbo on the phone.
Even though we were a little sick it was a nice day!
