Patriotic Day Day!

The kids Feeding the Horse in Henefer

We had a great time celebrating the Fourth all weekend long. Kevin took another CPA Exam on Friday morning and than was done by noon so we kicked it off by going to Copperton Park than went to dinner and a dollar movie. How to Train a Dragon was a cute little movie, and right up Cole's ally with the fighting of dragons even though he had seen it before. He loved it in fact half way through the movie, he yelled to his cousin, "I've seen this before" as it just clicked for him. Ha. ha. I love going to a movie and hearing all the kids laughter. So great.
The next morning we headed to Henefer for breakfast and the town fun. We had snow cones and 10 cent ice cream cones and bounce house chaos. What a great time. Than we drove home and got ready for a BBQ and ate some yummy food played the starburst mouth unwrapping game (with the new summer flavors) than went to the Sandy fireworks. It was so fun to see Cole and Dailey watch the big fireworks. There is something about the loud sounds and bright colors in the sky that make it so magical. I also forget how much I love playing on the grass waiting for them to start.
The next day was Sunday and I loved being in church on the fourth. I love singing the patriotic hymns. It helped me to reflect a little more and realize how blessed I am to be living in this great country and for the freedom we do have. I also loved sitting in primary and listening to the kids sing a few patriotic songs as well. I sure do Love being in primary. That evening was fun to eat dinner with more family. Than we came home early and went on a walk and watched fireworks from our house.
On Monday we packed our jeep with tennis, swim gear, cooler and everything else we could think of that we may want to go and do that day. I guess we didn't want to waste any time going home. We packed in all the fun we could. We went to breakfast at one of the cousin's house and than headed to Daybreak lake and went out on the paddle boats they have. It was so fun. We found a secluded beach area and the kids played in the sand and we kept rotating turns out on the boat. From there we went and had another BBQ and did our own fireworks. Another late night.
Man these days were packed from going to one thing to another. I think Kevin was glad to get a break and go to work today. The kids and I are still in our pajamas and just hanging out trying to catch up on some sleep and just relaxing at home. What a fun weekend!
Thanks Family.

Ready for The Fourth of July...

I went to Winco this morning and they had these cute gummy bears in red, white, and blue. Cole has to take a treat to his class on sunday and it is the 4th so we picked these up.
I am so excited for this weekend. I love that the 4th is on Sunday. We get to celebrate all weekend long and into Monday too!
I was trying to teach Cole about the 4th and why we celebrate. I started singing some patriotic songs to him and he even learned one too. Love, Love, Love this time of year!

Bedroom Rearranging...

When I was little I use to rearrange my room every other week it seemed like. I loved switching it up. I would shut the door and a few hours later everything would be organized and rearranged just as I would like it to be. Well I still do this with my living room furniture to the kids bedroom. I moved Cole's bed and Dailey's crib to different spots in their rooms.
Because hey Variety is the Spice of Life right?

My Dad and his Childhood Memories...

So my Brother and Sis in law had a great idea. They thought it would be fun to go downtown where my Dad grew up and go to all the places he lived and have him tell us stories from his childhood. So we all packed up our sack lunch dinners and drove to the Avenues. It was fun for the kids too, they all rode in different cars with their little cousins.

It was so much fun to hear the stories and to see my Dad remember when he was young. To see the houses he use to live in and where he played as a boy.
This is now a cafe but my Dad told us how it use to be a store/gas station and he worked there when he was 14. He was working late one night and got robbed. The guy told him to give him all the money in the till. My Dad asked if he wanted the coins too. The guy did not think that was funny. Than he left and my Dad called the owner who than told him to call the police. Crazy to be robbed at the age of 14.
I think my Dad lived in three houses on the avenues. This one he called the jungle. It was surrounded by trees and was on a hill. You had to climb up stairs to get there. He use to raise boats down this rain gutter. This place looked so fun to grow up at.
This is looking down from the house back to the street. It was so pretty. Lots of bugs but very pretty.
This is the house my Mom and Dad moved into right after they got married. They were renting the bottom part of the house from someone they knew. LDS hospital was less than a block away. My Oldest brother was born at LDS and they brought him home here.

My Mom told some fun stories too. Like how they went to my Dad's Grandma's house for dinner when they were engaged and she made them dinner. But my parents were an hour late getting there. She told of how mad grandma was and how she told them it was very rude to be late to someone's house for dinner. Love hearing both of there memories.
This was such a fun night. I should have asked more questions but it was fun to see all of these places. I would like to due a post on my Mom's childhood memories too one day when we go to Bear River. Than I think I will do my own post about the only home I lived in!

Cuz Ya had a Bad Day...

My sister told me yesterday that I did a great job in portraying the fun and happy side of family life here on this blog. Well I guess that is because I don't post as much on the days that ya just have a bad day. Funny thing is that today was one of those bad days.

I got up later than I wanted to and did not work out and just felt like doing nothing.
Than I had a crying 3 year old not wanting to go to his swim lessons which was not for another 4 hours. I ended up calling his Dad who decided he would come to swim to see if he would get in the water for him. Well he did finally get in the water half way through the lesson.
We than went and grabbed lunch. Where I was eating a hamburger and holding my almost 1 year old baby who was getting pretty fussy. Than we saw that I must have spilled something on her clothes only later to find out nope that was not mustard. I did not get mustard on my burger. Yep that's poop all over her and all over my white shirt. Lovely. On a normal day that would not bother me to much. I have been pooped on quite a bit. In fact sometimes I think it is pretty funny. But not so funny today. Poor girl. No wonder she was crying. I'd cry too.

Than I knew Kevin had to stay later at work to study. So that's always a bummer. Than I took a quick visit to a sister's house to drop something off and things were good again.
This really hasn't been too bad of a day compared to others.
But than the topper came later this evening when we got Kevin's test result back from his last CPA test. He didn't pass. He got a 74 and needed a 75. We were pretty bummed out to say the least. He is so great. He has so much going on in his life and to put studying for the CPA Exams on top of that is really hard. It is only a minor set back in the plans. I know. But man was it a bad day or what. Tomorrow will be better! I will make sure of that. :)

Happy Father's Day...

The Father of our home leads our family. With wisdom's light in all that's right;
My father's good to me. Fathers are so special with a very special love.
They watch us and protect us. They guide us and direct us Back to our home above.

I have amazing Father's in my life! I am so blessed to have my Dad and Kevin's Dad. They are both wonderful men, who honor their priesthood and who are hard working, loving Fathers!!!
Love you guys!
Our primary sang this song above (not sure why it's underlined and in blue, must of hit something) in church to the Dad's. Cole sang so great! But I love this little simple song.

I am also so blessed to have this guy to be the Father to my two beautiful kids. He is so amazing.
He is such a great Dad. I love watching him with Cole and Day. He is great.
Boy oh Boy did I ever luck out when I married him!!!
Kevin wanted to take his Dad golfing for Father's Day so he and his brother and Dad went golfing early Saturday morning. Than his Dad took them both out to breakfast. I love that they like to spend time together! Oh and Kev needed to try out his new club.

The kids and I went to their cousins last soccer games. They both are very good at soccer. Than we got a babysitter and went out to PF Changs for dinner with my family. It was a very fun and "special" night. To top the night off we got a parking ticket. Another story for later. But definitely a funny situation. It probably won't be funny if they don't except our appeal. But still kind of funny. That is our busy, but fun weekend!

Crazy Busy, Summer Fun...

This past weekend was a busy and fun one. We had the ward carnival on Friday night. Where I was in charge of all the games. I look forward to this carnival. It is a lot of fun. However I am not good yet at mastering how to be fun and not stress over things and so maybe that is why I am still in the primary and they haven't released me. Ha ha. No I love Primary! It's definitely where it's at. But it all seemed to happen all at once. Carnival, Sharing Time, and Father's Day.
Whooo. I love being busy and I love summer too.
So it was fun but also nice to have the weekend over.
Here is only a couple of photos from the carnival. I think I was too worried about the cotton candy not working. (Thanks to Kev, we got a refund on it) I was no help with it. I kept screaming when it would make loud sounds at me. So I gave up. Thanks to our secretary she finally was the one to get it going and to another lady in a different ward. Thanks Lady in the other ward for your help.
I did have my fun, husband talk me into getting in the dunk tank and go down the fun slip n slide. No pics of that Thank goodness.
