Go Mighty Cougars...

Well It is that time of year...
Cougar Football
We went to the first Cougar Game of the season.
We left from Brighton and went and met Kev's Mom and Dad and Brother and had a little tailgate party. Too bad I did not bring out my camera once. Dang it.
They saved us a parking spot and we pulled right up and had some yummy hamburgers and threw the football around and than it was time to head in for the Game.
I love the excitement in the stadium on the season opener. It was a fun game and both Cole and Dailey did so great. We like our seats and think it is going to be a great season. Oh wait I am writing this after last weeks loss. Man did we look bad.
But we will pull it together.
The next day Kevin took Cole to the bathroom and he said "Dad Guess what I want to do when I grow up?" and Kev said what? " Be a Football Player" Kev said " oh Great. K well you will have to play a lot of "tackle" with me. and than Kevin asked "who do you wanna play for?" Cole says, "Dad you know ... BYU!"
Than all week with everything I served for lunch and dinner he asked: "Do Football Players Eat this?"
We love our Cole.

Brighton...

We went up to Brighton over Labor Day this year. We were able to up on Friday night and come home Monday evening. It was so fun to go up and enjoy some yummy Potato Cheese Soup and enjoy the crisp mountain air. When I say crisp I should be saying cold. It takes a little while for my body temp to adjust to colder weather. Thank Goodness for the Soup.
Saturday we went and hiked up to Lake Mary and man was that a hike. I am sure it isn't really but I was holding Dailey the entire way up. "Man I am gonna kill my trainer he says I am in great shape" movie quote. Kev carried Dailey on the way down. I am a little more unstable on the way down. Cole was a trooper and enjoyed it almost the whole way.
Anyhow we had a lot of fun just relaxing and hanging with family. We hot tubbed, did a few skits out on the deck, played the killer game and ate yummy food.
We watched a weapons demonstration which the kids loved and thanks to Nathan we now have a pile of weapons in our front room that can not move which is loving called the "kill stuff". Cole has a "Kill Bag"which when you ask what it is he says it is my "church bag/ kill bag" they go hand in hand.
We also had a fun little afternoon lunch behind the church where we played candybar craps too.
Than there was the game Grandma and Grandpa had us searching for items around Silver Lake.
When you spotted the item you had to run up to them and tell them and you got a treat.
Thanks Mom and Dad for letting us go up you are so great.

I didn't say Goodbye...

Goodbye Summer You will be missed!!!
I absolutely love summer and get a little sad when it is over. However I do love Fall and I like Winter but oh how I love Summer. So Goodbye Summer.
Goodbye...
-hanging out in the backyard in our little kiddy pool (which Cole and Dailey both loved)
-Good old BBQ
-Evening Walks

It sure was a great summer. It was fun that Dailey was old enough to go out and enjoy it too.

30th Birthday Food Fight

Kevin had planned a food fight with my family for my birthday! Many people prepared for this! My sisters and Mom made individual bags with the #30 on the outside and they had goggles and hair nets and a cute water bottle inside. The water bottles had a tag that said: Here's some water to quench your thirst before the "fight"!
There was 30 different kinds of food to throw with little flags in each item. Everyone wore t-shirts and shorts.
All the families made and brought different items to throw. Some of the food we had was:
Costco Sheet cake
mashed potatoes
Rice
Cream Corn
Pork and Beans
Choc. Pudding
Vanilla Pudding
Whipping Cream
Sprinkles
Chocolate Sauce
Strawberry Sauce
Spagetti Sauce
Spagetti
Eggs
So first they made this game where they would ask a question about me and if a family member got it wrong I got to throw whipping cream in their face and if they got it right they threw it in mine. Man was it such a riot. This was such a fun thing that I have always wanted to do. The kids thought it was way awesome. Except Coleman! He does not like to eat his pancakes with syrup because he hates to be sticky. He cried through most of it and wanted a wet towel to get wiped off with! My parents were even in the fight which my Mom hates to be sticky as well. Maybe that's where Cole gets it from.
We will definitely have to do this again for the soul purpose of having Kevin in on it. He held Dailey the whole time and did the video. We did get him later after the camera stopped rolling. Just so he would not be the only one clean.
This was so awesome! Thank you everyone for ALL that you brought and DID for the party. Thanks Kevin you made it such a fun 30th Birthday! And I am Loving 30 Baby!

So Sad. I can not figure out why it won't let me upload my video that we made of the food fight.
When I figure it out I will post it!

My 30th Birthday Part 1...

Seriously this was the best Birthday!
Warning. I am going to brag a little or maybe a lot about my good husband and family below.
I woke up to my Birthday banner hung up with a few balloons taped to the wall. Kevin had hung birthday signs all over the doors. ( I went to bed earlier and he was up late decorating and wrapping) He is so awesome. He carries on the birthday sign tradition and his signs are always funny. I took pictures below. Anyhow.
Kevin told me to come pick him up at his work at 10am and not to be late. He had something planned is all he said. So I picked him up and we drove downtown. I could not figure out why we were going downtown. We pulled up to a law firm building and I asked him if we were setting up a will. (We should I someday but not on my 30th) Than we went upstairs and we were in a Chiropractors office. Well he scheduled an hour massage for me. Which he got on city deals. Way to go Kev.
While I did that he took the kids to a nearby park. Than we met some of my fam for lunch at Chilli's. Than we dropped him back off at work and he told me to be ready when he got home later to go celebrate with my family and have cake and ice cream.
I was so impressed and thought it was so dang cute of him to set up the massage by himself and how he really made it special. He even took Cole shopping to pick out a present which was junior mints and gum!
Than Later we went and did presents at my parents house where I got lots of things for my cricut which I picked out and it was from all the Bush fam and Kev's parents! Thanks guys.
Than Kev pulled out a double jogging stroller! Wow that was a total surprise. It was so fun. I had been wanting one of those. He is so sneaky.
He also got me a shirt and earrings. Man did I get spoiled.
My Mom made me a German Chocolate Cake minus the chocolate part. Which was so dang good. We did presents and Cake and ice cream. But the Party was not over!
My Mom tatted me this bookmark and also made this flower headband. So dang cute! Than she gave me a tatting shuttle so I can learn to tatt too. Is tatt with one t or two?

Birthday Kit...

My Mom has always made our Birthday's Special! She would do little things that to this day I remember and have decided to make it a tradition with my little family.
My Mom always made birthday signs which she would hang on almost every door in the house! We also would get to pick the dinner that she would make that night (when we got older we went out). Than she had a "birthday bear" that would sit on or by your plate.
Man alive did we feel special and very much loved!

So I decided I better make a Birthday Kit so I could have some things on hand for the birthday's in my family.

In my kit I included:
Birthday Bear
Birthday Banner (My Mom and I made together)
Balloons
Crate Paper
Markers
Candles
Small Plates and Napkins

I did this all before Dailey's Birthday and it was so nice to have it all in one place so I just had to grab the container and we were all set!
Most of the stuff I got at the dollar store too so it was super cheap.

Camping...

This past weekend we went up American Fork Canyon and stayed at the Granite Flats campground. Site 34 was our little home away from home for just a couple of days. It is so fun to watch how much kids enjoy camping. They love the simple things and so do I. We were able to just hang out and have some fun. That canyon is so pretty. I love the lakes and the beautiful trees that dot the mountainside.
We hung out and later some of my family came up too. What a great time we had. Man did Cole love hanging out in the tent trailer. Thanks grandma and grandpa and we definitely had fun on the four wheelers. Thanks B and R!
