Taxes and KFC...

Tonight we took dinner to Kevin at work! It has been a busy tax season and it is drawing to a close! Kevin's firm is trying to wrap everything up before Saturday and so these last few days have been some late nights for him.
He is so great though. He never complains and works so hard for our family. I sure love him!
It was fun to go and eat our dinner in his office tonight. The kids love to play and run around in the office and Dailey had a great time hitting the ten key buttons.

The Leverich Group has been good to us and I am really grateful for his job their. His co-workers are so friendly and nice to us when we come in and visit.
We are so blessed to have a job their and I might add they are pretty lucky also to have such a dang great guy!

The Kickers...

Cole had his first practice and game last night! His team consists of kids in our ward and the ward that shares our neighborhood. It was so fun to go and watch these cute little kids.

Cole has improved from last season by quite a bit. He seems to know where the ball is more and still likes to run around and be silly but also was really running hard after the ball.

My favorite was after he thought he scored not sure if he kicked it in or if it was a group effort but he ran right off the field and gave Dad, Dailey, and I a hug. He was so proud of himself.
Throughout the game he would run past us with a thumbs up sign.
He really looked like he was having a great time.
Should be a fun season. Go Kickers!

Conference Craft...

My good husband cut all the wood blocks for our conference craft. We spelled out spring on one side than you rotate it and it spells Easter.
I made this little page and put it into a frame.

Happy 65th Birthday...

We were able to go and celebrate my amazing mother in laws birthday. We all got together and had dinner and did a little craft for the kids. Thanks Susan. Our Party Planning Specialist ( no really you are so fun)! We had cake and ice cream too. It was a fun evening.
I am pretty blessed I guess I should say instead of the word lucky, to have the in laws that I do.

Judy you are a great Mother, Wife, and Grandma! We sure love you! Hope you have a wonderful year ahead full of fun!

New Swing Set and Conference Weekend...

On Friday we had our new swing set delivered! We were so excited for this little purchase to come and I am not sure but Kevin and I may have been more excited than Cole.
Kevin took off from work and was home when the fedex guy came. We started right away taking inventory of all the parts and organizing and labeling to help make it go quicker for building.
Kevin's Parents came later that evening and so did B&R and their family. Man are we so grateful for their help! It was a project. We have only been able to play on it a little bit since the weather was good for building it but now is back to being cold!
We really appreciate everyone's help in building because we took up their Friday night and also their conference saturday! Thanks guys!

They loved playing on the boxes.
Okay they were really excited!
Cole helped Kevin build the climbing wall by handing him the screws.
Lots of wood.
Lots of hardware.

I was in making our traditional cinnamon rolls when I looked out my kitchen window and saw three generations of Dearden's. I got all teary eyed and than had to run out to capture it on camera. Boy do I love these guys.
You can't see him well but their is my nephew up their who is totally into tools and hard work.

It looks so great! They did an awesome job putting it all together.
This is the handymen crew who put it together minus my hard working nephew who probably was still up their working on something. Not sure how we missed him in the picture.
Also I didn't get a picture of Rach and Judy my sis in law and mother in law who also gave up their weekend to help us!
Thanks again guys. We have been wanting a new swing set since last summer and are excited to enjoy this summer out on it.

These are conference bags that my Mom gave to all the grandkids. She told them not to open it till Sunday Morning when conference started. It was the first thing Cole ran to when he woke up. It was filled with treats and of course our traditional conference Bingo! Thanks Grandma &Pa.
Kevin set up his old train set when he was a boy and we sat their and listened to the afternoon session. The morning session we listened to while sitting downstairs all huddled up together with treats and blankets. I love being able to hold them all close and listen to inspired representative of the Lord. I especially love hearing those talks that help me be a better wife and mother. They were all so good.

It's ok They will still Love you...

One night we went to visit my parents. We got over their and she was watching some of the other cousins while their parents attended a funeral. So Coleman and his cousin went to play downstairs. Later they came up to tell us how they needed some cardboard to cover something. We were in the middle of a March Madness basketball game so we didn't really pay attention like we should have.
Than we found out that they went to Grandma. Grandma did not say anything to us she just quietly was making a cover out of cardboard for the window. Later we found out why. They were downstairs playing with some things they were asked not to play with and Cole threw something and than his cousin threw something but hers went right through the basement window; breaking the old window.

Later we find out from the cousin that she did not want to come up and tell what had happened, she was scared. Than she told us what Cole told her. "It's ok, Grandma and your Mom will still love you, because when I do something bad my Mom still loves me"

Oh how I love that little boy! Kevin and I as parents have tried to emphasis with him that we will always love him even when he makes a wrong choice.
This was a good thing to remember today. Especially when I have felt like I am not doing great on how I respond to Cole fighting with his sister/cousins or whining and other little parenting challenges. Sometimes I get after myself thinking man I handled that bad. But I know it's ok My Heavenly Father still loves me and will help me as I ask for his help in guiding me to be the Mother I want to be.
I also have an awesome Mother who taught me today that I do need to be a little more compassionate. It is not my strong point and I need to work on it. I do love to see a good Mom comforting her child.

Field Trip Thursday... Zoo..

We got a zoo pass for Christmas from Grandma and Grandpa Dearden! We went for the first time the last day of March! We met Susan and Brock and Alli and Samantha at the zoo. We also took cousin Morgan with us. We had a great time and can't wait to go again soon.
