It has become a fun tradition for me and the girls in the Bush family to go to Women's Conference. We have gotten a hotel room before and other times just traveled back and forth.
This year my Mom, Mel, Mindy, Rachel, and I stayed in the dorms on campus. We have never done this before but we were told that it is nice to do.
We drove up Wednesday night and checked into Chipman Hall.
We were able to hang out that night and talk and check out the classes for the next day.
Liz and Amber drove up Thursday morning with little Archie too! We all met and went to classes together. We have such a good time being with each other and running to get into the classes that look the best. I think there was only one class that we really wanted to get into but didn't.
We were interviewed for an article in the church news by a friend of Amber's and she was asking all of us what we loved most about WC. (Don't worry, every year we try and pose as a camera goes by, hoping to make it on the cover for the WC magazine and now we know it's all who you know) We all joked around about those mint brownies and the chocolate covered cinnamon bears but I think I realized that it's not even the classes, Which I love, but the lasting memories of me being with My Mom and The Sisters that I love the most!
We were able that night to go to the service project center where we put together newborn kits.
Than we went to the brick oven for dinner and than we went to the concert they have every year.
I love going and hearing these people speak. I love talks on parenting, families, and how I can be a better Mom. I always come home inspired and ready to work and be better. I am so blessed to have a husband willing to take two days off work and stay home with our kids and let me go off. I joked with him saying it was my "training" and how it was not a girl's trip of fun but rather like a business trip. ha. ha.
I miss my cute family when I am gone. This was my first time leaving Dailey. So I was a little sad to go but I recorded my voice for them on Kevin's phone so they could hear my voice at breakfast and before they went to bed. If they didn't have so much fun with their Dad maybe they would have missed me but he is so much fun that I think they were just fine with me being gone.
Here are a few things I loved hearing:
Keep it Small,
Keep it Simple,
Give it Time.
We need Mother's who are committed to Mothering!
We don't need more Women of the World we need more Women of God.
I loved this talk that said that Love is spelled TIME!
This mother talked about playing with your kids. It was so good.
I feel like my "training" was a good one!
Thanks Kevin!
