Conference Weekend & Brighton Family Fun...

We spent conference weekend up at Brighton with the Bush family. It was so fun to be gathered together with family to listen to the words of our church leaders. We always have a good time up there. We took hikes around the lake and played games and just hung out.

We did a few games with prizes. We had pictures of the apostles and church leaders hung around the room and you had to go and name as many as possible. We also did a talent show. I think a family talent show is such a fun idea. It gives the kids a chance to get up in front of people and perform. Even if it is just a little thing. Cole showed his double jointed ability. Dailey danced. We got up, and placed a fruit loop on our nose and demonstrated our incredible talent by trying to catch it in our mouth.
There were some skits and songs also.

It was so fun to sit and watch conference all together. I will have to catch up on the talks where I was distracted by this or that.
But I just love how my parents make it a priority and make it so fun for my kids. They always make them a conference bag with treats and games to play while listening to conference.

Thanks Bush gang for a fun weekend.

Halloween Craft and Decorating...

We got out all our Halloween decorations today. We also did a little Halloween craft. I saw this idea on pinterest and decided we had to do it! Of course theirs was cuter but I just used stuff I had on hand.
Man that pinterest thing is dangerous. It seems like a day ago I didn't even know what it was and now I am all about scrolling through all these craft ideas people have "pinned".

So fun, and dangerously time sucking!

Kids National Geographic...

A while back I got a deal on a kids National Geographic magazine and so we got one and also gave one as a gift. Than shortly after that we got these in the mail.
They have been so fun to read. It has been our book club book for last little while. We just take one article at a time and do that. The kids have loved looking at the Halloween one too!

Cole riding his bike...

We took off the training wheels when we went to Bear Lake. We thought it would be a good place to learn and ride. He didn't really have much desire to ride. He felt like his scooter is faster.
So he really only practiced a few times. Than we didn't do much since than. A few time here and there and than he wanted to just ride his four wheeler.

Than Kevin took him to the church and was so good at teaching him and Cole caught on pretty quick. He still needs help starting but he is doing great! Go Cole!

Rough game and not just the score...

We were so excited to go to the first game at home! We have season tickets with some of our family. We had a great time with a little tailgating before the game. Than it was time to go into the stadium.  The place was crazy, loud. They have really stepped up the security stuff and no food rules. They made us dump out our water bottle and refill it inside. They checked all the way through our diaper bag. And told us we would have to dispose of all the treats we had inside. What! Are you crazy! That is the only way to make it through a game with little ones. Beside going into debt paying their prices for concession stand food.

Well Kevin just shoved the treats into his own pockets and than we walked right on through.
Before the game Kevin took Cole and Dailey to buy t-shirts, while I hit a tent of food that my brother gave us a pass too.
Lucy did not seem to be doing well, the entire time I walked around I would see people staring at her. I just assumed it was because she is a Beautiful Baby! Oh I guess it is because she kept having a ton of spit up all over her face. Her stomach must have been upset.
We finally got to our seat and it was LOUD. Pour Lucy was crying before the players had even gotten out on the field. I tried to calm her down but shortly realized we left the binki back at the car.
Kevin and Dailey hiked back up to the car before the game started. While I sat trying to console her from the noise. Let's just say between her and Dailey. Kevin and I had a hard time watching the game.
At half time I was done. We packed up and the kids and I headed home! I was excited to see the rest of the game on tv after I put the kids to bed. Than Kevin text and said he and his parents and brother were on their way home I thought oh no! What happened we were only down by one touchdown at half.
I guess it was one mistake after another.
What a Rough night for Cougars and Us!

Rocking my Baby with a Lullaby..

We do a set routine with our kids each night before bed. It is something that I love that we do and we started from the time Cole was a small baby. We usually sing primary songs to our kids, which I love! Since I was in primary for so long I came to love those songs we sang.  I have a few songs I remember my parents singing to me too. One is a funny little song, but I sure loved it. It goes like this:

Momma buy me a rocking chair, (repeat 3 times)
Do momma do,
What will we buy it with,
Do momma do,
Sell Father's featherbed,
Do momma do,
Where will father sleep,
do momma do,
Father sleep in the piggy pen,
do momma do,
where will the piggy's sleep,
do momma do,
piggy's sleep in washing machine,
do momma do,
where will we wash our clothes,
do momma do,
Wash our clothes by the river side,
do momma do,
what if our clothes should float away,
do momma do,
Get a little doggie to watch them there,
do momma do,
What if the doggie should run away,
do momma do,
Tie his tail to a hickory stump,
do momma do,
What if his tail should break into,
do momma do,
Put it together with sand and glue,
do momma do.

We also listened to a lot of My Turn on Earth while I was growing up.
I just love this little song called Angel Lullaby.

You came from a land where all is light
to a world half day and a world half night.
To guide you by day, you have my love,
To guard you by night, your friends above.

(Chorus)

So sleep, sleep, till the darkness ends,
guarded by your angel friends.
So sleep, sleep, till the darkness ends,
guarded by your angel friends.

There's one stands softly by your bed
and another sits close with a hand on your head.
There's one at the window watching over the dawn,
and one waits to wake you when the night is gone.

I think children love being sung too. I realized the other day that at night I usually am rocking my almost 4 month Lucy to sleep and my other baby girl still loves to be rocked and held and touched. So I put down my little Lu Lu and held my Day Day close and sang her the Angel Lullaby as tears crept down my cheeks because oh do I love my babies.
Even my little preschooler he asks "Mom will you sing me a lullaby" and it melts my heart.

Post Preschool Fun...

After picking Cole up from his first day. We decided we would go and take lunch into Kevin's work and eat and tell him all about the first day. The kids love going into his office and hanging out with him.

We than went to grandma and grandpa's Bush's house to visit them. It had been awhile since we visited them and it was great to hang out and play games with them. I love when my kids get alone time with their grandparents.( I need to do that more often. )
We hung out on the tramp and played other fun games outside. It was such a beautiful, fun, fall, day!

We than left and headed to Dunford to pick up some bread. They have their bread on sale on Monday's for 99 cents. Which I thought this would be a fun little treat to go to the bakery and let the kids pick out a donut too. But the real reason for the visit was to get "chewy bread".
There is a story behind the chewy bread. At church on sunday, we were taking the sacrament and Cole just popped his bread into his mouth and after consuming it yells "this is chewy bread, this is so much better than our bread at home". He later asks can we get some of that chewy bread. HA. ha.
I usually buy wheat bread that is a little more dense and has lots of fiber. So this was a treat to go get white bread. We need to teach that boy to whisper.
THings Cole has yelled during the sacrament when it is dead silent...
~Chewy Bread
~Don't THrow UP on ME!
~I Hate Church I want to go HOME!
Those are to name a few.

I got off on a tangent but back to our fun day.
Later that night we went to Trafalga for Family Home Evening.

We had such a blast. We played mini golf, raced go carts and rode some rides and Cole and Kev played lazer tag. It was such a good time.
