I'm Gonna make a Hot Cereal Lover Outta You...

Lucy is loving her Rice Cereal. She eats it so good. While eating her cereal, we like to sing the little song that we are gonna make a rice cereal lover out you. It makes her laugh and than she gets the food all over. So dang cute. Oh she is growing so big. We sure love her.

Dailey's First Haircut...

Dailey got a haircut today. She is two years old and it was her first haircut.

She has such fine hair. Her little hairs were always in her eyes so my sister trimmed them up and trimmed the back up too. Hopefully that will help it to grow better. She sat so still for the first little while and than got wiggly towards the end. She did a great job though and so did Amber!

Cornucopia Bread Craft...

I love Thanksgiving! I remember my Mom always making these bread cornucopia's and than we would fill the little ones with candy runts.  I decided to make a big one for a center piece on my kitchen table. I also made a bunch of little ones for my scout boys and than a few extra.
This turned into almost an entire day process with all the stopping and starting I did, to tend to this child or  feed baby Lu. But it was so fun and I wish I would have taken a picture of the kids with flour on their cheeks rolling the dough. We make a good amount of dough around here. Wether it is pizza dough, cookie dough, rolls dough. So they love getting the flour out and using the rolling pin.
I love working with them in the kitchen by my side! Well I should say I love it on the days where I have the time to be patient and I am not in a hurry.
I am hoping this helps them want to be their helping and talking and laughing by my side when they are older too.
Here is how the bread turned out.

Oh just a little side note story for me to remember. The kids did lose interest after awhile in our craft. So they were all watching a movie. I had Lucy on the floor for some tummy time. She definitely had no interest in that and was screaming. Well I watched as Dailey my little girl who takes care of everyone. Got  up from the couch and kept putting her binki back in Lucy's mouth. When that didn't work she got her toys and set them all out in front of her. Trying to calm her down, all while trying to still watch her movie. It was so dang sweet it brought tears to my eyes. Don't worry. Cole just ran to the computer screen to turn up the volume! ha. ha.

Doors...

When kids are little they don't have quite, the opinion that comes with an older child. Take for instance today, with my soon to be five year old. I would like him to wear this nice sweater with jeans to school. He would like to wear basketball shorts and a t-shirt.
It's the little things that I am noticing that help show their opinion and express who they are. When Cole was two I could still dress him in what I wanted him to wear. I could convince him to hold my hand too. Not the case with little miss Dailey. If she doesn't want to wear it. Than you better believe she will be peeling it off the moment you put it on.
Along with expressing their personality and what they want to do, it seems I will be having doors decorated with all sorts of things and I do know this is just the beginning.
Cole wanted to put little stickers right on the door that spelled out his name. I did convince him to put it on paper and than tape it up.
He comes home from school and runs for the tape to hang things on his door. We are going through a lot of tape these days, and not just for the door. He is always taping together swords and all sorts of things that I think could be taken care of with a few pieces of tape and he has put a roll of tape on it. ha.ha.

He even taped this little arrow to our carpet to show which bedroom was his. He told us just in case he forgot which one was his. I do love his little picture he drew of the family. He forgot Lucy but I love our heads with those eyes. So your house isn't your own when they grow up and I am ok with that!!

Happy Birthday Kevin!!

Today is Kevin's 32nd Birthday! We just finished a breakfast with Hootenanny and orange julius and now Kevin is setting up chairs at the church. We actually won't be going to church today.
We have all had the stomach flu around here. Dailey and Lucy got hit hard. Poor girls.

The flu kept us from celebrating our nephew's birthday which was yesterday. Kevin loves sharing his birthday with him. But we will do some more celebrating when we all are flu free.

It has been a fun birthday to get ready for. Earlier in the week Cole and Dailey and I made Kevin's Birthday signs that we hang up all around the house. They loved coloring them, and late last night Cole helped me hang them all around the house. He had so much fun doing it. Than he kept telling me to make sure to wake him up in the morning, so that he could help make the birthday breakfast.
It just reminded me of how important it is to involve these kids in the birthday hoopla. It also reminded me that it is the little things that help the birthday person feel Special on THEIR Day!

So Kevin You are loved so much!!! Happy Birthday!
