Classic Water Park & Skating...
Last summer I bought a groupon for Classic. Well I am not great with these coupons and I let it expire. But to my amazement they let me still use it. Amber brought her kids too and we had a great time.
We got there by 1:00 and did not leave the water slides until 5:00. Cole and Maddie were loving the slides and I loved that it wasn't crowded and I could just sit and watch them go down on the lawn while hanging out with little Owen and Lucy. I gave Amber the hard part of chasing Garrett and Dailey in the kiddie pool. I am not sure but everything seemed so funny to me yesterday. Especially when I had Amber's empty car seat by me and I had Owen on my lap and Lucy sitting by my side. I was on a hill and the next thing I know the car seat is flying down the hill. This guy sitting across the way about died. By the look on his face I was sure he thought a baby was in there. When I wasn't panicked and was laughing he looked concerned. He finally got up and went down the hill to get the car seat. He brought it back to me and I said "thank you, good thing there wasn't a baby in there". He didn't think that was funny.
We headed inside and had pizza and rootbeer that came with my deal and than let the kids play arcades and skate. I was laughing so hard watching Cole skate. He must have fell a hundreds of times but he kept getting up and trying again. He did not want any help. Too cool for that and didn't like it if I smiled or chuckled when he fell. I tried to hide it but sometimes I couldn't help but laugh.
I had such a good time, even with Day peeing her pants while playing air hockey. Guess the game was too intense to take a potty break.

Backyard Project...
Our sand box was beginning to be a pretty sore sight. The wood that was bordering the edges was rotting away. It was a dangerous place with nails coming out of the wood and slivers waiting to happen. So Kevin and his Dad took on the project. They pulled out the old wood beams and extended the sand box and bordered it with cement blocks. It looks so good. We now just need to order sand to fill the area that we extended out past the slide. They did this in the dead heat of the day.
They are so great. The kids and I watched from inside than later came out and had a water balloon fight. We didn't help at all. But we are so grateful for the help. It would have taken twice as long!
Learning Time...
I try to have a little time each day where we can sit down and work on some things with Cole and Dailey. It doesn't happen every day but here is where Cole wrote the alphabet without me helping him. Usually with Dailey we just sing the alphabet song.
It is hard to get him to want to sit down and do it but if he has to do it before he can play that usually will work.

Cookie Dough Brownie...
I was helping take a meal in to a family in my ward and I tried two new recipes. I am pretty sure when you are taking in a meal you should not try something you have never made, but whatever I did it anyway.
It actually turned out way good.
I got this one from here: http://www.browneyedbaker.com/2011/07/21/chocolate-chip-cookie-dough-brownies/Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Brownies
Yield: 32 brownies
Prep Time: 40 minutes | Bake Time: 25 minutes
For the Brownie:
4 ounces unsweetened chocolate, finely chopped
1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
2 cups light brown sugar
4 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
4 ounces unsweetened chocolate, finely chopped
1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
2 cups light brown sugar
4 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
For the Cookie Dough:
¾ cup unsalted butter
¾ cup light brown sugar
¾ cup granulated sugar
3 tablespoons whole milk
1½ teaspoons vanilla extract
1½ cups all-purpose flour
1½ cups mini chocolate chips
¾ cup unsalted butter
¾ cup light brown sugar
¾ cup granulated sugar
3 tablespoons whole milk
1½ teaspoons vanilla extract
1½ cups all-purpose flour
1½ cups mini chocolate chips
1. Prepare the Brownies: Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Line a 9×13-inch pan with foil, with enough to hang over all four sides. Butter the foil. In a medium glass bowl, melt the chocolate in the microwave in 30-second increments, stirring after each, until melted and smooth. Set aside to cool slightly. In a large mixing bowl, mix the butter and brown sugar with an electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs and vanilla extract, scraping the bowl as needed. Mix in the melted chocolate until combined. Reduce the speed to low, add the flour and mix just until combined (don’t over-mix). Spread the batter into the prepared pan. Bake 25 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let cool completely.
2. Prepare the Cookie Dough: In a medium bowl, use an electric mixer on medium speed to combine the butter and both sugars. Add the milk and vanilla and mix until combined. Reduce the speed to low and mix in the flour just until combined. Using a rubber spatula, stir in the chocolate chips.
3. Spread the cookie dough over the cooled brownies. Refrigerate until the dough is firm, about an hour. Use a sharp knife or a pizza cutter (my favorite way to slice brownies!) to cut the brownies. Store the brownies in an airtight container at cool room temperature or in the refrigerator.
I also made homemade pizza dough and sprinkled cinnamon and sugar on it and than topped it off with a glaze frosting and made it into the dessert pizza we use to get at GodFather's Pizza.
Do you remember that pizza place? Well it turned out pretty good.
