Book Club...a good day...

Today we read a book about a group of kids being detectives trying to find a ghost who broke into their club house. Cole loves to pretend that he is solving a mystery. Instead of making a treat this time, we did a little project and made ghosts and colored them.
We have only done this twice. But it is kind of fun each Monday going to the library and getting new books to read and than spotlighting one book.

Today I went on a walk with all three children. Two in the jogging stroller and than Cole was riding his scooter till he got tired and sat on the very front of the stroller. (Maybe my arms got the workout they have been in much need of) It was nice to be out early and have them out with me too. They love walks. Than we were all able to get a nice little nap in after lunch. I love little naps where I can lay with all the kids surrounding me and snuggle up to them. It does not happen very often but how how I love it.
I love how our days are so carefree and easy right now. I am realizing I need to soak this all up and take it in. Because oh how quickly, it will be driving this child to this and picking this child up from that. I really do love this time in my life.
Even though yesterday as I was on the phone with an insurance agent and all the kids were crying I thought, Man oh man this is hard to get anything done around here!!! ha ha. Lucky for me the man on the phone was a real nice guy who had five kids of his own who understood just how it is!
Oh life it is so good!

Preschool Orientation...For Real this time.

Today Coleman had his preschool orientation. We went and met his teacher Mrs. Amber and met a few of the other kids in the class. His class room is in her basement and it is decorated so cute. We got his little folder for school. It has a calendar of what they will be doing each day and what letter they will be working on.
Each Friday is show and tell where they bring something that starts with the letter they are working on.

Cole went right in and was not even shy. She let them play with the toys around the room while she talked to the mom's.
Cole is so excited to start. I am also excited for him to start. Even though I am a little hesitant because I can't believe he is old enough. Oh how the time goes too fast.

Kid Book Club...

I decided to do a little book club with my kids where I pick a book that week and we read it together and make a snack or a treat centered around the book.
They were excited to do this. We picked a very simple book. It was about ducks and the mother duck made apple pie. So we made Apple Pie.

We had a great Monday evening. We took all the kids around the church where Cole practiced riding his bike. He is doing so well. Kevin is so patient and great at teaching him.
We than came home for a short lesson on being a good friend and ate the apple pie we made.
Sure love Monday nights.

My Birthday and a Camping weekend..

I Celebrated my 31st Birthday on last Thursday. It was a good day! We met my family at cafe rio for lunch and than went and walked around gardner village. Also the night before Kevin took me out and took me to this awesome mexican restaurant in Heber. It has a salsa bar and it was such a cute little place. It was so fun just to drive and talk and just be the two of us.

Than later that evening on my birthday, we loaded the car for a little camping weekend up in Huntsville.
We camped at a campground right by Pineview Reservoir called Anderson Cove.

We had some friends up with us who took us boating. It was a fun weekend. I tried for my first time ever wake boarding and I actually got up! It was so much fun. It was such a thrill to get up. It took me quite a few tries to get up but I loved it. The people we went with were so patient and nice to let us try it. Kevin of course, gets up his first time trying to wake board. He is really quite good at it. It was fun to see him attempt a jump too. Cole rode the tube and even tried to water ski. It was so much fun.

Friday night we ate at a place called Huntsville BBQ Company. It was so yummy. The loaded mashed potatoes were my fav.

It is so fun to see how much my kids love to camp. It makes all the packing and unpacking well worth the work and effort it takes to just go for a weekend.
We came back sore and tired but Boy did we have a good time. We kinda like the lake and boating and huntsville.

Lucy ears are pierced...

We took Lucy on Saturday August 6th to get her ears pierced. We went to Claire's after our nephews baptism (why Kevin is all dressed up) and got her ear's done.
I of course made Kevin hold her and I took some pictures.
She did really well and only cried for a second. Even though some of the pictures look like she was in a ton of pain. The lady doing it did a great job. She said baby's don't like to be restrained and so they cry more from you holding them tight than from the actual piercing.
