Sit by me...

Dailey has been in preschool for about three weeks. The first week she came home and she tells us a lot about her day which I LOVE. I have to really pull that kind of information out of Cole. Not sure if that's the difference between girls or boys or what.

But she came home telling us about a girl named Brighton. Dailey would say "Brighton, says sit by me, sit by me. " Everyday she came home and when we would ask who she sat by she would say Brighton wants me to sit by her. We were happy she had met a little friend.

Than a week or two later Dailey came home and said Brighton doesn't say sit by me anymore.
She asked another girl to sit by her.

So it begins.. Really this young?

I had to explain that is just fine if she wants someone else to sit by her, and that Dailey can be friends with everyone and she could be the one to ask someone if they would like to come and sit by her.
I also let her know it does not have to be a girl. She can be friends with everyone!

Friends are so important to have and I know there will be a time where I will worry and feel the heartache that comes from children experiencing all the things they go through in their childhood.

And though this wasn't a bad experience and the little girl isn't being mean to Dailey it's still a learning thing for me as a Mom as well as them!

Another experience we had this week Cole told me on our walk home from school. He said his friend Gustavo had put his arms around his head and hugged his head really hard and than another boy did it too. He said it hurt him. I asked if he told him to stop and he said yes. But they wouldn't. Than he said when they went in from recess the teacher gave him a warning for doing it.

So Cole and I talked about what to do if that happens again. I asked if he they were trying to be mean and he said he didn't know. It really wasn't anything big but I got worried if we had taught him all he needed to know and Dailey for that matter in what to do with these situations.

I really want my kids to remember that being NICE is so very important!
I also want them to know how to be confident and stick up for themself too.

Girls and Hair...

The biggest thing that causes some major crying and drama in our house is Hair!
Maybe I am just not doing it right but boy do my girls scream and cry when I do there hair. I put things on this blog so when I'm an old lady I can remember how it was. And than if my kids ask me I can tell them straight up just how it was!

This little gem we picked up at the beauty supply store!! (Thanks Amber)

I wasn't sure it would work but I throw a few spritzes in the girls hair and it is magic I tell ya!
It makes combing through tangles so easy and I love the smell too!

Broken Toe...

Back in August I stubbed my toe pretty bad on our couch. Wish it was a cooler story than that but nope that was it. My toe bruised all the way back half way down my foot. It swelled up on the top of my foot the size of a golf ball. I thought it was a pretty bad jammed toe. I couldn't wear a shoe. Luckily I have been in flip flops. I even wore flip flops to church. Because putting on a shoe was very painful.
I finally now can put shoes on but it still squeezes my toe and after wearing it for just awhile I take off my shoe and it is like I have a sausage as a toe.

I am ready for it to feel better!!! I really want to start running again!! Back in August I wanted to sign up for a half marathon that is coming up this saturday in Hunstville. I really wanted to do it. But there is no way I could have done it. Good thing I listened to Kevin.

I haven't been on a regular running work out schedule all summer. But now I finally feel like I have a grasp on my new life (Kevin's job change) and with Cole in 1st grade and Dailey in preschool I feel we have some routine and I could fit in a run yet this darn toe. I am pretty sure I broke it. I haven't checked it out only because I am told they can not do anything for it.

So here's to hoping it gets better!

Life is Good...

I love Thursdays!!! I woke up in an exceptionally good mood especially for having a baby who isn't sleeping great do to a cold. But Maybe it started off last night by watching a funny episode of Modern Family.

But I woke up and on this cold morning I wanted to heat the house so I made Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins, which double as Pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. When I throw them in a muffin tins it makes me feel just fine to serve them for Breakfast. :)

We were less rushed this morning because Kevin drove Cole to school for me.
When he told Cole he was taking him in the Bush Carpet Van he Whooped and Hollard. He thought it was great to go in the Business Van. ha ha.

It's Only 9am and Tayson is down for a nap and my girls are playing princesses together while I finish baking the rest of the batter from our cookie/muffins.
Life is Good. I love when I can appreciate my good life instead of wanting to change things!

New York...

So my Mom won tickets to a Ceelo Green concert that is held in the terminal in New York for JetBlue employees. We all heard that she won and thought it was the funniest thing.
Our sweet Mom at a rap concert. Everyone told her she had to go. She asked on our family text who wanted to go with her. She could take one person. Well Kevin texts and says Amy is in!

So I went with her to New York! We flew out Sunday night and got to New York Monday around 5am. Our flight back was later monday night. So we were there for less than 24 hours.
It was crazy and so fun!!!
Dad took us to the airport and when we got there I got the full pat down. I guess they said I had traces of chemicals on my hands. So they went through my bag and pulled everything out. We thought it was a little funny that I was getting the full deal. I told them I did put baby lotion on my hands just before I left. So they took me and my mom over and I had to do a little more invasive pat down in a room that they had right off of the security area of the airport.
They finally let me through.
That was an eventful way to start our trip.
We got on the plane and My mom and I weren't seated next to each other. She was in front of me. I hadn't been on a plane in 6 years. So I was kind of excited to fly again.
However the red eye is a little different everyone is trying to sleep.
Anyhow we got there and we took the airtrain to the subway which took us into Manhattan. We got our right around time square area. We were outside about 7:00am walking around. It was so fun to see all of the huge buildings and see the streets start to fill up with people.
We walked around for about an hour and than realized we wouldn't see much at that rate so we bought tickets to do a tour bus. This bus was really cool. You could sit on top and a guide talked to you as we drove through the city. They stopped at all the sites and you could get on and off as you pleased.
We saw:
-Time Square
-Empire State Bld
-Statue of Liberty
-Central Park
-Ground Zero Memorial
I think we saw more but I am now already forgetting. Since it was such a quick trip. We may have stayed longer and gotten a hotel but I was still nursing Tayson and didn't want to be gone to long from the kids. But Kevin did great playing Mr. Mom.

Speaking of Mom. My Mom was so much fun to be with. She was awesome at navigating us through the city and getting us on and off at the right times and at the right stops.
My favorite is when she told Ceelo that we would be listening really close so keep it clean.
IT was a fun little adventure and I loved going with her. She is such a cool person and the best Mom!
I know I took more pics and better ones where my camera was actually in focus but I will have to search for those pics later. :)

Lucy is potty training...

Last week I decided that this week might be a good week to start to Potty Train. We have talked about doing it for awhile and had her little panties (we usually say underwear but you should hear Lucy call them panties, so cute) picked out too.
This week Dailey doesn't have preschool so we thought it would be a good week.
Well On Monday she was so excited to wear the monkey underwear. We also took her to the dollar store last week and let her pick out toys and prizes to put in our treat bucket. She went three times in the toilet and had three little accidents by 11:00 that morning. I was trying to pump her full of juice and I let her run around in just her underwear and jamma shirt.
By the afternoon she had told me twice that she needed to go. I thought it was just a fluke but we are now on day two and she has told me a handful of times that she needed to go and than we get in there and she goes.
Actually this morning we took her out of her pullup she slept in and she said "Mom, I do it"  she wanted to do it all by herself. She also would giggle everytime I would wipe her and say mom that tickles when you wipe.
She only had one accident today. A couple other times she told me she needed to go and she got on and went a lot but I felt her underwear and it was slightly wet. So she must have felt it coming and than told me. But I am very impressed with how quick she is picking it up!
She was in time out for not listening and so I thought id take a picture because it was just so cute.
I haven't really done the nose in the corner with her but I did it a lot with Cole and actually I have a pic of all the kids in that spot so I am not sure if I was really disciplining her or just catching the photo op moment. :)

I wasn't sure how tricky it would be trying to train her with Tayson having a cold and being pretty clingy so I told Cole and Dailey if they would ask Lucy if she needed to go potty and helped with all the hoopla of being excited for her when she went, they could pick a treat too. So they have been extremely helpful, and been her biggest cheering section. I am sure they would have been great cheer leaders even if I hadn't asked them to help and bribed them. But I have liked hearing them help support her!
Keeping our fingers crossed that this continues. The real test will be when we venture out!

My TuesDay...

We had pancakes for Breakfast. Kevin made them!
We have all been helping Lucy, who is doing so well on her second day of potty training.
We got Cole off to school.
I folded and put away two loads of laundry.
Cleaned toilets and mirrors.
Answered the BCC phones.
Made Lunch.
Took Lucy to the bathroom for the 100th time.
Wiped Tayson's runny nose for the billionth time.
Changed a few diapers.
Wiped up one potty accident. (Really only one on day 2 is impressive)
Walked to pick Cole up from school.
Went through and organized papers from school.
Got soccer game treats ready.
Read books to the kids.
Swept and Mopped the kitchen floor.
Rocked kids to sleep.
Sang Lots of primary songs till I heard soft sounds of snoring.
Colored and helped with Dailey's homework (she doesn't have preschool this week but she does have HM)
Kevin helped Cole with his homework.
Blogged.
Stopped blogging to rock Lucy back to sleep.
Kept blogging and than stopped to put Tayson's binki back in his mouth.

Today wasn't anything spectacular. I stayed home all day with my kids except to go get Cole from school. Kevin and Dailey went to Cole's soccer game. While I stayed home because Tayson had a pretty bad runny nose and we didn't want him out at the windy soccer field and also because running up to use the toilets at the soccer field every 15 didn't sound too fun either.
But even though it wasn't anything special. It is the life I am living right now and I rather like it. Ask me tomorrow and my answer could be different. But it was a GOOD Day!
Except that I really wished I could have seen Cole score two goals at his game!

Another thing I liked about today was that Kevin was home early working on some office work and so I got to go and walk to school to pick Cole up.  I love being there to get him. He ran right up to me and gave me a big hug. This is not normal. He does not usually hug me. I loved it!
We walked home together. It was so nice to hear about his day. It can be a bit of a walk for such a young kid but he did great. Later when no other kids were around he let me hold his hand as we walked. Than I gave him a piggy back. But that only lasted about three houses long or so. He is getting to be a big kid.

An ordinary Tuesday but sometimes ordinary is just the way I like it!

p.s.

I need to add a list off all the things Kevin does in a day. I am sure I would be typing forever. He does so much with Bush Carpet and than comes home and is so involved in all of our lives and helps out around the house too. He did our grocery shopping today, and ran Cole to school and ran to the bank. He also made breakfast and took Cole to his soccer game.
He is always doing so much on top of his work stuff.
The man is Amazing!
