Just A Little Cole and Mom Time!

Since our sweet baby girl was born our sweet big boy has turned not so sweet as he once was. Wow saying that makes me feel bad. Cole has always been such a good little boy. He was always happy and funny and polite. Oh he still is, I know but wow its been a crazy month.

It seems that the past month has brought out such a roller coaster of behavior. He throws tantrums just to throw them. If you walk up to him and say "hi" he will grunt or growl at you.
One minute he is happy as can be and the next he is screaming at the top of his little lungs!
Boy oh Boy, this is just what I was afraid of. The last month of my pregnancy I was thinking of how I could make the transition smooth and make sure he still would get the attention he needs. I am not sure I pictured it like this though.

I decided that maybe he needed a little alone time with Mom. So I took him on our own outing with no baby sister. Which made for good Dailey and Daddy time. I asked him if he wanted ice cream and he said" maybe some gumballs" so we stopped at the dollar store for Gumballs! Than we went miniature golfing. It was so fun just to be with him! Not to worry about the next feeding time and to be able to play around. He is quite the golfer. We topped the evening off with a little ice cream too! It was a fun evening and boy do I love him!

Dailey Lynne Dearden July 20, 2009

Dailey was born at 11:36 on Monday July 20th at Jordan Valley Hospital.
She weighed 7lb and 1 oz. She is perfect! We are so excited to have her in our little family.

We were so excited to bring her home. We left the hospital on Wednesday morning. Coleman was so excited to have her home. He is so cute with her and loves to come up and tickle her. He has found out that she does take some of his attention away. He is still getting use to that. He does really well though.

I have been having fun putting bows and picking out her outfits. She is so dang cute. We sure love her and are so glad she is here and healthy!

I have been so blessed to have two beautiful children! I am so lucky to be a stay at home mom. Thanks Kevin! I love it and would not want it any other way. Even though I am getting little sleep these days, I really don't mind getting up and taking care of little babies. Most nights anyway. Ha ha.

I also wanted to Thank family and friends for the Dinner's and visit's and all the help. I have also been blessed with wonderful family and a great ward and friends!!!

Bear Lakin' with the Bushes in June!

We went to Bear Lake in June. Yes the beginning of June. Can you say cold. We wanted to go one last time before little Jim now Elder Bush left on his mission. Cole loved the water! He had so much fun jumping in to Dad's arms.
We spent an entire week there. Most of our days were cloudy, rainy, and cold! We still had fun though. We did the "lake experience" ok some of us did. I stayed back with the girls and kids while all the boys went in and swam around for a short time. Pretty sure that cold of water would not be good for my unborn baby.
We played in the sand a short time than we hit the pool. Let's be honest it was cold so we really went to the hot tub. A cold year to be pregnant and not be able to get all the way in, not to worry I had company with three of us pregnant!
We had the unit above the store. They have done a lot of remodeling this year. Cole loved running downstairs and hopping on his scooter.

Cole kept saying; "I'm really fast huh"

We had a lot of fun!

We had a BBQ on one of the nights it was not raining.

The kids making S'Mores.

Following dinner we let the kids play a little with Croquet than we had the adults play and boy did it get pretty intense! We had a few cheaters and a few people who may need to brush up on the rules. ha ha.

We had Grandma and Grandpa's annual treasure hunt. Which the kids love! They each got to take a turn and dig for the buried treasure.

If You Were Three......

If you were three
and could not see
Higher than the table;
And everyone put things on shelves
Whenever they were able;
And no one let you touch or squeeze
Or otherwise explore
How could you learn the thing you need
To know when you are four?

Leola B. Perry

My dear Grandma Perry wrote that poem. (My Mom's Mom) Having a two year old close enough to three, myself I can appreciate that poem a little more now. I love how my own Mother and Father have made it a priority to make sure that their grandchildren feel welcome in their home and are able to touch things and play with things. I am really also blessed that Kevin's parents do the same.

Seriously, how unfortunate that there are some homes that kids go into and are not able to touch this or that. Don't get me wrong. I like nice things and I think people should have some nice things. Especially Grandparents, they deserve and have things they may not want touched (keepsakes) but I think it is truly a blessing to have wonderful Grandparents on both sides who love and know that possessions we have, are Just That Possessions.

I need to do a better job at this. I think this poem is a good reminder for me. Not to take away from caring for our things and treating them with respect, which I also think is important to teach!

This is me, just thinking...

Happy Mother's Day!

This coming Sunday is Mother's Day! I know it will be a busy one so I thought I would take a moment and express my appreciation to the Mother's in my life.

I am truly blessed to have a Mother like mine! She means everything to me. There is not a day that goes by that she does not give and serve her husband, children, and grandchildren.
Thank you Mom for your example of Love! I watch you and am in awe of your ability to do it all!
Thank you for your quite and sweet Testimony of Jesus Christ I see it in all you do.

I am also very blessed to have Kevin's Mom in my life. She is such a wonderful Mother! I am so grateful to her for my Amazing husband. Thank you for raising him in the gospel. I am also so grateful for all she does for me and my family. Thank you for your love and kindness and wonderful example of service.

I hope you both have a wonderful Mother's Day!! You deserve it! I love you both and am grateful for your wonderful example's of what being a Mother is all about!

Side note: I know there are those Mother's who hate Mother's Day or feel guilty on this day. I am young in the mothering business but hey I say any day I get to kick my feet up and get a present well than I welcome that day! Not to say that may change in the future, since I have a lot to work on in the mothering department but hey gifts are always welcome. Ha Ha.

Easter Weekend Fun!

I was excited to color Easter Eggs with the little man this year, since last year he was a little young and did not care a lick about it. We went to Grandma Bush's house with the cousin's and Cole did not show any interest until a little later. He came to the table and I gave him an egg and he says "I crack it?" He did enjoy coloring some eggs along with cracking a few as well.

I seriously hate the smell of eggs especially hard boiled eggs. I wish I could like them but I'll be honest I can't get over the smell long enough to even get a bite to my mouth. Putting that all aside I did let Cole try his first hard boiled egg. He took a few bites and I thought oh great, he likes it and than out it came and he started to gag. So lucky for me Cole will not be requesting that smelly thing any time soon.

We had the Bush Family Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday afternoon and this was the first year that we hid some of the eggs in the park. It was really fun to see Cole run from one place to the next.

Coleman scored big with the easter candy!

The Easter Bunny came to our house!

The Easter Bunny hid Cole's easter basket in the dryer. It was funny to see Cole look for his basket. He almost missed seeing it in the dryer since we threw a few clothes over the top of it.

I must say the Easter Bunny did pretty good at hiding Kev's basket.

We went to Grandma and Grandpa Dearden's for an Easter Egg Hunt and Easter Dinner. We had a fun time looking for eggs and had a great evening with the Dearden's.

I love this picture. Cole was rolling down the hill after the easter egg hunt and I felt like this was a perfect picture for what a nice Easter Weekend we had.
