Getting ready for General Conference.

There are three great things about this time of year.

1. March Maddness-love college Basketball
2. Spring-even though it does not feel like spring-yet
3. General Conference

I borrowed this little kids tent from my nephew so I can do a sharing time for primary. The lesson was on preparing ourselves for conference. I read a story in the friend where they were reading about King Benjamin and how the people would open their tents towards the temple and listen to King Benjamin. It went pretty good as far as my sharing times go. I did realize something though. All kids love tents!! We had the tent at our house and Cole made us eat lunch one day in it and breakfast the next day. He loved it.

Things I love about General Conference:

-Love being with my little family and listing to the prophet of the Lord.
-Making homemade sweet rolls
-getting together with the girls for craft or project night while the boys are at priesthood.
-Love waiting for the husbands to come home from priesthood and tell us what they talked about and having ice cream sundae's.
-Conference Bingo with Fruit Loops-tradition since I was little.
-Love going in any room in the house and seeing tv's and radio's all on conference.
Well I guess I better prepare myself for General Conference!

Congratulations Tyler on your baptism this past week. You are an awesome young man and have great parents!

Jim's Mission Call!

Jimmy got his mission call last Wednesday! We all gathered at 9pm to watch him open it.

Daniel James is hereby called to serve in the Atlanta, Georgia Mission!

Congratulations Uncle Jimbo! We are going to miss you.
Jimmy is such a great brother and I am really going to miss him. He is such a great Uncle to Cole. Whenever I see him he always has a smile and gives me a hug. He also stops what he is doing and takes the time to play with Coleman. He is going to make a great missionary.
We are so excited for you Jim. We love you!

First Day of Spring!

Spring is here! Okay so this week has been fabulous. I was so excited to get out this week and start planting my garden! We bought a nice tiller last year and only used it twice so It is time to pull it out and till, till, till. One problem, actually ran into a few. My good husband and also my good parents thought I should not be out running the tiller. Bless them they were just being careful on my baby and my behalf. But dang, I so badly just wanted to get out and do it myself. And I usually would have not listened and did it anyway because I am stubborn but I listened. Since Kevin was working and had prior commitments for almost every evening this past week, my Dad and Mom both told me they would do it. And they did. Mom came and tilled it up.
Thanks guys!
Also Thanks to Kevin's Dad! He came and fertilized our lawn. So nice.
Back to the garden. We have a lot of rocks. So Thursday night Kevin had time to till it again. He would till than rake the rocks up than till again. He is a little more on the perfectionist side than I. Third time around our tiller breaks. Yep, pretty brand new craftsman tiller. Broken. Great. So it delayed our mixing new soil in and planting until Saturday afternoon when Kevin got done from School and work!

My Boys working hard! Well not to worry. We did get a few things planted just in time for our spring party that night with the Bush Fam.

We or I should say Kevin planted Peas, Carrots, and Potatoes. Last year I did not plant potatoes so we will have to see how those turn out.

This is a picture of last years carrots and tomatoes. It was my first year ever with a garden. So I am hoping to improve each year. Also last year we did not use additives( if that's even what you call it) so this year is already off to a great start with some miracle grow and Kevin's and my parents prep of the soil and advice from Kevin's Dad too!

There is something so rewarding about planting a garden. Not only to have the food but to get out and do the work and see the progress is therapeutic and being outside always puts me in a good mood. I can't wait to see how it grows and to weed it! I can do that!

Lovin March Madness!

Bush Family Madness

This is the first year we filled out our brackets online. We usually just print them off. This year has been fun to be able to get on and see where everyone stands. It makes it a little more interesting and helps with the trash talk! (Thanks Lizzy)

Here are the results as of today. I better post it while I am tied for first place before something changes.

Notice my husband is in 7th place... oh what place am I, oh yeah tied for 1st that's right!

Oh and the Winner, gets Leatherby's icecream!!!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I sure love holidays even the small ones. I enjoy waking up and making a breakfast for my family and putting green food coloring in it. Thanks Mom, she always knew how to make the holidays fun and pass on great traditions. I love that everyone wears green. We even were invited to a St. Patrick's Day party at cousin Jake and Natalie's house. We brought cupcakes. Cole licked the frosting off of three of them before we had them all iced. Can ya blame him, it's frosting. Yum.

Coleman's Lepracuan Lunch!

Amber and I wearing our matching green.

Grandma did a Leprechaun Treasure Hunt. The kids all loved it although Cole did not join in until the end. He was a little busy with trucks.

Potty Training Party!

Kevin and I decided to take on the adventures of potty training a two year old. We did our homework. Ha ha. Ok, I did a little reading in a book my sis-in-law loaned me. Next Coleman and I made a treat bucket together. We than went to the dollar store, where he was able to pick out candy and toys to put in the bucket. He was so excited about his bucket that he carried it around for days.
We also went and picked out big boy underwear and of course the little toilet seat (thomas the train) that sits on the big toilet.
Kev had him put on a pair of the big boy underwear just to try them on. Oh yeah, he wanted them off as soon as we put them on. We talked about it for a few days. I thought I would do it on a week we had nothing really going on. Than a few days later Kev asked Coleman "do you want to wear your big boy underwear?" He said,"yes". So it began...

Kev went off to work and so did I. I let him watch movies and drink, drink, drink. We would head off to the bathroom every 15 minutes. Crystal light seemed to be the drink that kept us running to the potty the most. Went right through the kid.

We didn't leave the house for three days!

Cole loved picking a treat or toy from the bucket.

Potty training can wear anyone out.

Our little Colie is doing great. He has caught on to the potty training thing pretty dang good!

I have been totally nervous to jump into the blogging world.
Excuses I have thought of:
I am not computer savvy even though I should be.
I need a great Mac computer before I can do it.
What if it takes over my life?
Am I committed to keeping it current and actually doing it?
I am Not a photographer/writer like so many other bloggers are.
I say silly enough things out loud now to have it written, and for all to see. (oh boy)

Reasons I have wanted to start my own blog:
It will be a fun way to keep a "journal" and have pictures to go with it.
I love reading other people's blogs. I am sure I would love reading mine.
It will help improve my typing skills and writing skills. (maybe)

Okay so the excuses out weigh the reasons I want to do a blog so I'm not sure why I am doing it but here we go!
